Your hosts know the region and the village of Mirepoix perfectly. They fell under his spell several years ago. This is why they have decided to help you discover their beautiful region by setting up their high-end guest house

The village of Mirepoix is registered as a “Grand Site d’Occitanie”. This pleasant town will charm you with its beautiful bastide, its superb half-timbered houses, the Maison des Consuls with its carved wooden pieces, its ancient Saint-Cathedral Mauritiusand its numerous activities from April until November: Puppet Festival, Potters' Market, Apple Festival, Medieval Festivals and many others. 

A few kilometers from the city of Mirepoix is one of our favorites: the Merovingian Necropolis of Tabariane. A beautiful walk, accessible to all, awaits you, between lush nature and tombs from the time of the “Haired Kings”. 

An exceptional medieval city The city of Carcassonne

In 45 minutes, you will be in Carcassonne. Immerse yourself in a medieval, natural and friendly universe with its various points of interest: the Château Comtal, the Saint-Nazaire Basilica, the Pont Vieux, the Bastide Saint-Louis and many others. Enter the fortress, in the largest medieval city in Europe, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and travel back in time.

Whether you come to Mirepoix for gastronomy, history, oenology or discovery , your hosts necessarily have an itinerary to offer you that will suit your desires. They will always give good advice and adapt to the season. The Mirepoix tourist office, 100 m from Clos des Oliviers, also provides excellent tourist advice

On a former railway, between Mirepoix and Lavelanet, a Voie Verte has been built. One of the many Paths to Santiago de Compostela also passes very close to our establishment.

Pieces of history On the route to the Cathar Castles

Leaving from our guest house in Mirepoix, we offer you an itinerary that will take you through some of our favorite Cathar Castles: 

  • Château de Foix : this refuge for persecuted Cathars was built on top of a rock, at the confluence of the Arget and the Ariège
  • Château de Roquefixade : an old Cathar castle from the 11th century, now in ruins
  • Château de Montségur : this fortified castle was rebuilt in 1206 and it dominates the Pays d’Olmes with its 1,207 meters of altitude
  • Château de Puivert : this is one of the best preserved Cathar Castles in the Audois hinterland
  • Château de Puilaurens : with its 697 m altitude at the summit of Mont Ardu, it watches over the village and the Fanges forest

For the whole family Outdoor activities

Just a few minutes' drive from Clos des Oliviers, many activities can be on the agenda for your days. In winter, the first ski slopes are an hour's drive away. Nearby you can do tree climbing, horse riding and go karting. Don't miss the Lac de Montbel with its water activities, its equipped beaches and its walks all around.  

Little Florence of Languedoc Narbonne and the Mediterranean Sea

In an hour and thirty minutes by car, you will be in Narbonne and on the beaches of the Mediterranean Seae. We advise you to visit the city of Narbonne and stop at some of its points of interest: city center, archaeological museum, la Clape massif, Garden of the Revolution, etc. On the edge of the Mediterranean, you can sunbathe, swim and enjoy! 

The Principality a few kilometers away Andorra

In two hours you will be in the center of the Principality of Andorra. On site, we advise you to discover the picturesque villages of Canillo, Soldeu, Ordino and Sant-Climent-de-Pal. Don't miss its unmissable visits such as the Sant Joan de Caselles Church, the Historical Ensemble of the Bons and the Sanctuary of Meritxell.
